For three years now, the singing of the Whitsun Song in Whaddon has been going ahead. On Saturday we have a folk evening with music and dancing, and on Whit Sunday a procession round the village, followed by a church service and more dancing. This year the weather was awful, but at least we have had to develop a wet weather programme--a procession (with umbrellas and no dancing) and dancing in the Village Hall before church. The procession was led from one end of the village by the Devil's Dyke Morris Men, and from the other by Manor Mill Morris. It was very successful again. Here is a preliminary web site.
